Mancherial, Naspur, Khanapur Civic Bodies Facing No Confidence Motions

Adilabad: Congress party has set up a camp for councillors of Mancherial municipality after moving no-confidence motions against the municipal chairman and vice chairman of municipality in erstwhile Adilabad district.  

The no-confidence motions will be taken up on January 6. Congress has set up the camp for its ward councillors and those supporting the party to avoid poaching by opponents, particularly BRS.

Congress leaders have also served a notice on Tuesday moving a no-confidence motion against the chairman and vice chairman of Naspur municipality.

Congress leaders led by Mancherial MLA Kokkirala Premsagar Rao claimed that they have support of 26 of the total 36 councillors in Mancherial municipality. In Naspur, 18 ward councillors out of 25 are supporting Congress, he said.

The date for taking up the no-confidence motion in Naspur municipality has not yet been fixed.

No confidence motions have also been moved by BRS, Congress and BJP against the Khanapur municipal chairman and vice chairman. Officials fixed January 5 for taking up the motion in Khanapur.

Congress leaders are running camps for their councillors, so as not to give BRS a chance to poach their supporters till the date of no-confidence motion.
