HYDERABAD: KPHB traffic police organised a traffic awareness program in association with KPHB hostel owners at Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Kalyana mandapam in Hydernagar under Cyberabad limits here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, joint commissioner (traffic) T. Srinivas Rao said that no hostel owner is allowed to use cellars for kitchen or cooking purposes. It is because of such illegal and unwarranted uses that hostellers, staff, tenants in the building and visitors were forced to park their vehicles on the roads. This haphazard parking was leading to traffic congestion in the surroundings, Rao said.

The joint commissioner urged the hostel management to shift the kitchen from cellular to the terrace of the building if they have space constraints.

ACP (traffic)  Dhanalakshmi, KPHB traffic inspector Narasimha Rao and others were also present.
