Villagers fume as Nizamabad GGH staff refuse to attend to accident victim
HYDERABAD: Doctors and staff of the Government general hospital in Nizamabad were accused of negligence of duty for a second successive time by people living in the nearby Navipet. They complained to the district collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu on Thursday that hospital staff had recently dragged a patient in a most inhuman manner.
In a fresh row, the villagers alleged that GGH staff did not treat a road accident victim on Wednesday night.
Bothle Sai Kumar, an auto driver, was seriously injured in a road accident at Navipet Wednesday evening. He was brought to GGH immediately. Allegedly, no doctor or staff attended the case for two hours.
A call to GGH superintendent Prathima Raj by Nizamabad ZP chairman Dadannagari Vittal Rao went in vain.
Unable to see the plight of the patient, his panic-stricken family members shifted him to a private hospital in Nizamabad on Wednesday night. The condition of Sai Kumar is said to be critical.
The enraged Navipet villagers, led by local BRS leader Theddu Poshetty, complained to the district collector demanding action against the errant GGH authorities.
