Tamil Nadu CM inaugurates schools via video conference

Chennai: Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa inaugurated a number of buildings for the school education department including classrooms, hostels and laboratories worth Rs 408 crore on Monday
An official release said the Chief Minister opened the facilities through video-conferencing from the secretariat. They included a teachers’ guest house in Tiruchy and girls’ hostels in Villupuram and Tiruvannamalai districts and seven school buildings in Kanyakumari, Kancheepuram and Krishnagiri districts.
She also inaugurated 747 additional classrooms, 26 primary school buildings and 7 middle school buildings constructed under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan scheme.
She also laid the foundation stone for 22 school buildings in eight districts including Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuddalore and Nagapattinam districts under RMSA scheme.
Jayalalithaa launched digital content for class 10 and 12 students which can be uploaded to Mobile phones and computers. She also released CDs containing Tamil rhymes from class 1 to 5.
She inaugurated the Edusat facility centre in 58 places for imparting the training for teachers, a news release said.
