Burns victim airlifted to Coimbatore
The girl from Pathanamthitta suffered 80 percent burns after a man poured petrol and set her alight.

Kottayam: The 17-year-old burn attack victim was airlifted to Coimbatore in a helicopter and admitted to Ganga Hospital on Thursday. The girl from Pathanamthitta suffered 80 percent burns after a man poured petrol and set her alight.
The suspect, Sajil, 23, is also undergoing treatment at the Kottayam Medical College Hospital with 40 percent burns. Doctors who were attending the girl at the MCH said the Ganga Hospital has a special unit for treating burns. Her parents gave the consent after a Chennai-based NGO offered financial assistance.
