Vijayawada railway station starts economy meals

VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Railway Station has started extending economy meals for train passengers at ₹20 and a combo meal for ₹50.

Vijayawada divisional railway manager (DRM) Narendra Anandrao Patil said Indian Railways has started the concept of “Economy Meals” to provide quality, affordable and hygienic meals to train passengers, particularly those travelling in general coaches.

The meals will be available at service counters of kitchen units in refreshment rooms and Jan Aahaar stalls situated at the railway stations.

The DRM said apart from Vijayawada, the economy meals are available at Hyderabad, Renigunta and Guntakal railway stations of the South Central Railway.
