Telangana HC adjourns Nanal Nagar land NOC-related case

 HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday adjourned hearing to the appeals seeking a CBI or SIT probe into the issue of NOC in 2009 to the evacuee property land admeasuring nearly one acre at ward number 21 in Nanal Nagar, Gudimalkapur, to October 3.

The NOC to private parties was issued by the NOC committee, which was headed by the then Hyderabad district collector Naveen Mittal. One Shanti Agarwal, claiming the land, had approached the High Court for investigation. The court in 2016 faulted Mittal and the committee and ordered an inquiry. However, as the inquiry remained pending, Shanti Agarwal sought a CBI or SIT inquiry into the issue.

Another interim application was filed before the High Court requesting to direct the disciplinary authority to take immediate action in the matter of framing of additional/supplementary charges and reframing the charges in the disciplinary proceedings against Mittal, and further direct the inquiry officer Sunil Sharma to follow All Services Discipline and Appeal Rules, 1969, in the matter of disciplinary enquiry against a bureaucrat.

Meanwhile, Mittal’s counsel sought two weeks to reply to the application.
