Revive Congress team calls on Rahul Gandhi

Mr Gandhi assured the team that he would be appointing DCC leaders only on basis of merit

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth leaders belonging to Revive Congress team held talks with AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday to revamp the party. Former chief minister Oommen Chandy also interacted with Mr Gandhi later in the evening. Revive Congress team, which has been vehemently working towards reviving the party devoid of groupism had been attracting the attention of senior party leaders. Mr Gandhi assured the team that he would be appointing DCC leaders only on basis of merit and that he will choose leaders from the list of 21-member high power Political Affairs Committee.

The team that met Mr Gandhi comprises former national youth congress general secretary Mathew Kuzhalnadan, former national youth congress secretary Anil Thomas, former Pradesh Youth Congress general secretary R.V. Rajesh among others., former elected general secretary of youth congress D.V. Vinod Krishna, former national coordinator of Aam Aadmi Ka Sipahi (AAKS) Shaji J. Kodankandathu and former youth congress general secretary Dr. Ajis Ben Mathews. Already Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala and KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran had held talks with Rahul Gandhi regarding the appointment of DCC presidents which is expected to happen by Nov. 10.
