VACB books case against C N Balakrishnan
The VACB in its QV found that the figures related to incentives obtained from the purchase of IMFL were “fudged'.
Kochi: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) on Thursday registered a case against former cooperation minister C. N. Balakrishnan and seven others for alleged misappropriation in incentives obtained by Consumerfed from liquor companies during his tenure from 2011 to 2016. The decision to proceed with the further investigation was following a quick verification carried out by VACB on the directive of the vigilance court, Thrissur.
Apart from Mr Balakrishnan, other defendants are former Consumerfed president Joy Thomas, former additional registrar with corporation department V. Sanilkumar, former Consumerfed MD Regi G. Nair, former chief manager R. Jayakumar; former regional managers M. Shaji and Sukumaran, and former manager (IMFL- section) Sujithakumari. Earlier, the VACB in its QV found that the figures related to incentives obtained from the purchase of IMFL were “fudged’.
