Bengaluru: Millet fair draws crowd
The millet cuisines prepared at live counters by renowned chefs were conceptualised and extensively researched by NNRC students.
BENGALURU: To promote the use of millets, students, celebrity chefs and health enthusiasts came together for a day-long culinary symposium, organised by the Agriculture Department in collaboration with the Nutrition and Nutraceutical Research Centre (NNRC) of M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS). It was inaugurated by Agriculture Minister Krishna Byregowda.
An international conference, an exhibition of millet processing and products, farmer workshops, business-to-business and business-to-farmer meetings were part of the event. The millet cuisines prepared at live counters by renowned chefs were conceptualised and extensively researched by NNRC students. Ms Rashmi Kappar, Academic Registrar, Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology, MSRUAS, said, “The aim was to introduce millets in the homes of people from all walks of life.”
