Parents cook food for entire kids at a UP school in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: For more than a month now, students of Kozhikode-Parambil Kadavu Muhammad Abdurrahman UP School were having delicious homemade lunch at school. The secret: Their mums cook them at school. The parents have formed a committee which decides who will take the turn to cook food for not just their kids but the entire school. On Tuesday, when transport minister A.K. Saseendran visited the school to inaugurate smart classroom, he even got their surprise meal of the ‘Ammakootayimayude Sneha Pachakam’ programme.

“When we passed the idea to mothers, they were super excited. Sometimes the milk provided to students by the government will be turned into delicious payasam, and there was even a time when the leftovers converted into tasty snacks swiftly,” said Rajeesh Kumar T.P., a teacher. The permanent cook at the school help mothers in cooking. After inaugurating the smart classroom project implementing at the school using the MLA infrastructure development fund, the minister appreciated their efforts.
