PG doctors told to follow ethical guidelines

Kakinada: Andhra Pradesh Medical Council member Dr. D. Vara Prasada Rao exhorted post graduate doctors to follow ethical guidelines in patient care while being in the medical profession.

Participating as chief guest at an awareness programme on “Ethics for Interns and Final Year Post Graduates” organised under the aegis of AP Medical Council at Rangaraya Medical College Auditorium on Tuesday, Dr. Vara Prasada Rao said confidence, non-maleficence and equitable care must guide doctors. Misconduct and medical negligence cannot be tolerated in the medical profession, he underlined.

About 350 interns and post graduates are attending the programme.

Rangaraya Medical College (RMC) principal Dr. D.S.V.L. Narasimham presided over the programme. RMC vice principals Dr. A. Vishnu Vardhan and Dr. Devi Madhavi, Indian Medical Association’s Dr. G.S. Murthy and Government General Hospital superintendent Dr. G. Hemalatha were present on the occasion.
