Reports said Pradeep fell in love with one Rajyalakshmi of Narasannapeta. The affair went on for over two years and the parents of the boy and girl agreed for the marriage and fixed the date for April 20. Both the families, including the bride and the groom, arrived at the Suryanarayana Swami temple at Narasannapeta on Thursday. While arrangements were on, the bridegroom told a relative that he was going out and would return in a couple of minutes.

He never re-appeared at the venue. The family members of the bride presumed that he absconded, and lodged a complaint with the police. A case has been registered and the police launched a search for him.
