Protest march against Vellapally Natesan on Monday
Mr Vellapally rubbished the allegations raised by Mr Vidyasagar and said that it is he who should be arrested first.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan is set to face some trouble from Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Ekopana Samithi which will hold a protest march to SNDP Yogam headquarters in Kollam on Monday. Their demand is that Mr Vellapally and his son Tushar Vellapally, president of BDJS, should resign from the Yogam posts as they had surrendered the values of Sree Narayana Guru and cheated lakhs of his followers.
Even before the elections, SNDPES office-bearers led by Mr C. K. Vidyasagar, former SNDP Yogam president and Secular Republican Party leader along with former SNDP Yogam president K. Gopinathan had met the CPM leaders seeking action against the father-son duo for misappropriation of funds in the SNDP Yogam and SN Trust. Mr Vidyasagar claimed that some 1,000 representatives of SNDPES would take part in the protest march.
“The finances and assets have been bungled up by Vellapally and his son and several crores of rupees has been siphoned off by them from SNDP Yogam and SN Trust. Our demand is that the new Government should take action as per Section 92 of the Civil Procedure Code under which a suit can be filed against charitable organisations and various trusts. Funds were siphoned off in the names of the office-bearers of the trust,” Mr Vidyasagar told DC.
There is no law in the country now to know the source of the income of the office-bearers of various trusts and charitable organizations, he said. Mr Vellapally rubbished the allegations raised by Mr Vidyasagar and said that it is he who should be arrested first.
