Gales, Hailstorm Lash Many Nandyal Areas

 KURNOOL: Heavy rains accompanied by a thunderstorm lashed parts of Nandyal district late on Tuesday, causing severe disruptions.

Santhi Nilayam village in Pamulapadu mandal got hit by hailstorm. Local rivulets overflowed, leading to traffic disruptions between Velugodu and Vempenta.

Rainfall turned torrential in Velugodu mandal with rivulets flooding. People faced challenges crossing streams and continuing their journey.

A chaotic situation prevailed in various areas due to a combination of gale winds and heavy rainfall.

Revenue officials monitored the situation to ensure the safety of people Conditions in most areas improved by Wednesday afternoon.

Kothapalle in Dhone mandal received 8 cm of rain, Velugodu 5.2 cm, Gospadu 5 cm, Dornipadu 4.5 cm and Dhone 4 cm, while Koilakuntla, Sirvel, Allagadda, Owk and Panyam received rainfall ranging between 1 cm and 3 cm.
