On Thursday, Bose sought another extension to appear before the court, which put off the case to August 4.
Mysuru: The hearing of a petition related to the corruption case involving Sunil Bose, the son of PWD Minister Dr H.C. Mahadevappa, and his friend Raju, was put off to August 4 by the third additional district and sessions court on Thursday.
On June 4, the court had issued a directive to the Lokayukta police to include Sunil Bose as accused number 2 and his friend Raju as accused number 3 in the corruption case.
It has asked Bose and Raju to attend court proceedings on July 4 but Bose through his advocate, had taken permission to attend court proceedings on July 21. On Thursday, Bose sought another extension to appear before the court, which put off the case to August 4.
The case goes like this: Mr Basavaraj who had obtained a government tender for sand mining in T Narsipur taluk, had filed a Lokayukta case against Mr Alfonis , an officer in the department of mines and geology for allegedly demanding a bribe for Rs 1 lakh for giving permission for sand transportation and had named Mr Sunil Bose too.
Mr Alfonis during the Lokayukta raid on March 27, 2010, had alleged that he had to give the money to Mr Sunil Bose failing which it was difficult to gove Mr Basavaraj permission for sand mining and transportation.
The Lokayukta police had dropped Sunil Bose from the chargesheet, which was challenged by Mr Basavaraj in court. The court ordered that Sunil Bose be included as accused number 2 in the case and had issued summons to him.
