Temporary workshops for repairing gadgets

Kozhikode: The district administration has extended whole hearted support to the people affected by flood, starting from cleaning houses to repairing gadgets, said District Collector U.V. Jose while talking to officials and the public in a programme here on Tuesday. A single call to the helpline that is 6282998949, is enough for the public to get their issues sorted out, as we have thousands of volunteers ready to act any time as per our directions.

The district administration in support with the National Institute of Technology will start a temporary workshop at Malabar Christian College soon, where people can get their electronic gadgets repaired for free, which may be a first of its kind initiation after such a calamity, the Collector proudly proclaimed.

The temporary workshop will function till August 25, where fridge, television, torch and similar products can be repaired.

The district administration has also asked for free services from people who work in the electronic and mechanics sector at the temporary workshop at MCC.

Experts from the Graduate association of civil engineers (GRACE) have extended their free service, including providing suggestions on the house repair works and safety measures, to houses that require renovation after the calamity, Collector added. In addition to these services, the Bharathiya Chikitsa Department has come forward with their door step services. Ayurveda medical
camps have already been conducted in 268 relief camps in and around the district. Several teams were divided to provide services to the people in need of treatment.
