Unique \'Shubhodayam\' concert enthralls city folk
Hyderabad: 'Shubhodayam' a one-hour music concert, featuring 150 performers overall, organised at 75 parks by HMDA and GHMC in association with Tatvaa Arts, as part of 'Swatantra Bharat Vajrotsavalu' drew wide applause here on Sunday.
Special chief secretary (MA&UD) Arvind Kumar said, “The intention behind organising early morning concerts (7 to 8 am) in parks was to take traditional classical music to the common man and get all classical exponents on a single platform. The audience called for more such music therapies as they could get rejuvenated once in a month”.
“About 150 musicians from the city performed 75 live Hindustani and Carnatic instrumental music concernts simultaneously in 75 different parks. The artists were happy to perform morning ragas amid such a wonderful natural ambience.”
“The highlight of the renditions featuring artists from all ages and pitting gurus and shishyas was a contrast between budding violinist Nayna Nimmagadda, a sixth grade student in Delhi Public School, Nacharam and 75- year old B.S. Narayanan, who came up with a violin virtuoso.”
Endowments minister Allola Indrajaran Reddy, Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, GHMC zonal commissioners, corporators, among others participated at different locations.
