Telangana Governor hails 100-crore inoculation mark, asks people to get vaccinated

Governor appealed to all those who are yet to receive their Covid-19 vaccination to do so quickly and without fail

Hyderabad: Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday appealed to all those who are yet to receive their Covid-19 vaccination to do so quickly and without fail. Continuous Covid vaccination programmes are being conducted for the benefit of the community and people should get vaccinated, she said, addressing a celebration of India achieving delivery of 100 crore Covid-19 vaccines at the ESIC Medical College and Hospital.

The Governor appreciated the efforts of the doctors and staff at ESIC Medical College and Hospital for their services to Covid-19 patients, saying Dr M. Srinivas, the Dean, and others at the hospital provide the best of medical care and facilities to Covid-19 patients. “This was the only hospital providing both Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 services to the patients right from the beginning of the pandemic. More than 1.5  lakh RTPCR tests have done in the MVRDL BSL2 and BSL3 facilities at the hospital,” she said.

Calling the crossing of the 100 crore Covid-19 vaccinations a big achievement, the Governor said, “Telangana has a special contribution to this achievement as the top vaccine companies are located here.” She said the when vaccination for children starts, it will be another proud moment for the country, and called on all those yet to get their second dose of the vaccines, to do so without fail.
