Lokesh Kanagaraj Remuneration for Leo
Chennai: Young and happening Tamil director Lokesh Kanakaraj has reportedly pocketed Rs 50 crore for his work in his latest big ticket film ‘Leo’ starring Tamil superstar Vijay and Trisha in the lead. “Lokesh has charged a bomb for his film with Vijay since he has big hits like “Master’ and ‘Vikram’ so the producer paid Rs 50 crore since his name spells magic at the box office. He has surpassed many directors in remuneration with just a few hits under his belt,” says a source from Chennai.
Despite the film 'Leo' triggering ‘mixed’ response and scathing reviews, the box office collections in Tamil Nadu and overseas have set the box office on fire with Rs 120 crore on the first day itself and drawing big crowds till now. “Lokesh combination with big stars is triggering a lot of hype around the film. He packs his films with loads of heroic acts and violent action episodes and rides on the underbelly of society. in particular, drug dealers and peddlers as main villains and it is fetching good revenues for his films,” the source adds.
Meanwhile, Lokesh confirmed a Telugu film with superstar Prabhas and also dispelled rumours that it would revolve around the Lokesh Cinematic Universe which started with ‘Kaithi’ and followed up in ‘Vikram.’ Maybe, he is writing a new script for Prabhas considering his pan-India appeal and would present him in a new avatar. Of course, it will be action entertainer but with distinct Lokesh touch, Nonetheless his stocks are soaring and also his zeroes on his pay cheques,” he concludes,
