BJP worker confesses to Mohammad Fasal murder

According to police sources, Subeesh made the confession while he was interrogated in the Mohanan murder case.

Kannur: A BJP worker,  Subeesh Embramkandy, arrested in the murder of CPM leader K. Mohanan  near Anjarakkandy in October, has made a startling confession that he along with three others were behind the killing of NDF activist  Mohammad Fasal in 2006. The CBI which probed the Fasal murder had arrested CPM leaders Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrasekharan.  According to police sources, Subeesh  made the confession while he was  interrogated in the Mohanan murder case.

The confession was  reported to the DGP. Subeesh  also said  that the same team was behind the murder of CPM man  Chittariparambil Pavithran at Kannavam in 2009. Based on the confession, Kannur police  sought  further investigation into the Pavithran murder. CPM Kannur district secretariat member Karayi Rajan and Thiruvangad local committee secretary Karayi Chandrasekharan have been named as accused number 7 and 8 respectively in the Fasal murder case by the CBI. Both were arrested and sent to jail. The confession of Subeesh is likely to stir a hornets’ nest in the coming days. Fasal, a former CPM worker,  was hacked to death in Thalassery on October 22, 2006.
