Facebook used to crowdfund movie

Thiruvananthapuram: A group of film activists have used Facebook as a tool to crowdfund their film. The group First Nation Combines (FNC), a group of movie lovers, inspired by the possibilities of independent movie making has come together to produce a feature film Richter Scale 7.6.
The film deals focuses on how environmental degeneration leads to marginalisation. Apart from FNC, Campus Oak, a group of over 40 engineers who were alumni of NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad have also supported the project.
K.J. Jeeva the director of the 72-minute long film said that the film tried to examine the mental agony caused to people who live in penury due to environmental destruction. The story is set inside a hut where a father and son live. The father is chained inside as people consider him to be mad. The film uses folk songs to highlight turmoil of the father. As days pass by, the son is carried home by people as he is injured during work.
The tides now turns with father becoming the son. He goes out for work. It is the only time the camera goes out to show the barren land and rocks. The story of the film is by Reji Kumar K. and Rajesh Kumar K. Screenplay and dialogue by Rejikumar K. The director of photography is Sujith Lal and editing is by Sujith Sahadev. Original background score is by Nisanth and art by Nandhu Naga. Makeup is by Babulal Kodungallor. Syam Lal is the production controller and Sajith Kumar CD and Shaji GS have produced it.
