KTU fee refund if students get 15 per cent additional marks

Thiruvananthapuram: Students who have secured more than 15 per cent mark variation on revaluation of BTech exams will get a refund of their revaluation fee of Rs 600 per paper.
APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University issued an order to this effect, enabling some 250 students to get their money back. They have been asked to collect the same from the principal of the college after November 23.
Those who wrote B. Tech S1 exam Jan 2016, S2 exam May 2016, S1 supplementary exam 2015-16, S2 supplementary 2015-16 and S1, S2 special and supplementary August-September 2016 will get the money back.
Further, a penalty will be imposed on teachers who commit omissions and mistakes in the valuation as being followed in other universities in the state.
The examination and finance branches will jointly work out modalities for implementing the above in a time-bound manner, said the order.
The answer papers of candidates who got a difference of 15 per cent marks or more during revaluation were sent for a third valuation. After that, the average of the closest two marks was calculated and awarded to the candidate.
