Adilabad: Villagers panic after tiger kills their cattle

Adilabad: A tiger killed two cows and created panic in the forests of Thamsi-K village in Bheempur mandal. The villagers found carcasses of the two animals in Adilabad district on Monday.

One Yellanna of the village sighted the tiger and three cubs moving in the area. Pippalkoti and Thamsi-K villagers were panic-stricken by the tigers’ moving to Thamsi- K along river Penganga.

On the other hand, a tiger entered the cattle shed and attacked a cow that was tied to a pole in Kukuda village in Bejur mandal on Sunday night. Villages informed forest officials that they had sighted the tiger in Babasagar in Komaram Bheem  Asifabad district.

Forest officials asked people, especially farmers and agricultural labourers, not to venture into fields and forests individually and go in groups and return early, carrying drums and making sounds to chase away the tigers.
