Visakhapatnam: The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Advanced) was held at 10 centres across the city in morning and evening sessions on Sunday without any untoward incidents. Thousands of applicants and their parents thronged the examination centres.

Huge rush was conspicuous at Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College, Dr. VS Krishna Government College, Government Girls Junior College and Gayatri Vidya Parishad Degree College. The city police has imposed Section 144 at all the examination centres as a preventive measure.

Speaking to this paper, K. Surya Prakash, an IIT-JEE aspirant, said that the entrance examination was somewhat difficult compared to the earlier papers he practiced during his coaching.

Thousands of candidates from Visakhapatnam appeared for this entrance exam, which, if successful, makes the students eligible for admission into various premier institutions in the country such as IITs, NITs, etc.  The observers also collected the biometric data of the candidates.

One candidate was seen requesting the officials to allow him to write the exam at Dr. Bullayya College, who forgot his hall ticket at home.
