Two found dead at Secunderabad railway station
Police suspect the duo must have consumed something toxic.
Hyderabad: Two trackmen were found dead at the Secunderabad railway station on Wednesday morning. The bodies were found near the canteen. One was identified as 55-year-old D. Saidulu and the other as 54-year-old B. Shankar.
Police suspect the duo must have consumed something toxic. Police sent their stomach samples to the forensic lab. The police is also investigating the murder angle. Police said both men were found lying on the floor near the canteen at around 3 am. They were unconscious and the police took them to hospital. The doctor declared them dead.
Police sent the bodies for post-mortem to Gandhi Hospital. “We checked CCTV footages and found them going out of the railway station and coming back. After a while they collapsed. We suspect they consumed something toxic. We are waiting for the forensic report,” said railway police SP S.J. Janardhan.
Police said the duo were carrying their own food.
“We are not sure if they ate anything from the canteen. We are checking if they consumed something outside,” said another official. Cops are also checking if anybody was selling hooch near the railway premises.
