Kozhikode: The police has failed to track down the culprits in many cases of attack, including at Nangarathupeedika in New Mahe area of Kannur, where state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan addressed a meeting on January 26. There is also no clue about the attackers of the CPM district committee office here  over  10 days ago.  The only action was that the city police commissioner was shifted following the attack when  district secretary P. Mohanan had a narrow escape.  The Congress and the BJP have lambasted the CPM for the police inaction over these serious happenings.

The CPM criticised the police commissioner for not personally reaching the spot of attack and following up the evidence.  The BJP had denied the charge  of its role in the incident and  spokesperson P. Raghunath blamed the  CPM infighting  for it. Though cases were registered against six BJP workers for the Nangarathupeedika incident,  there was no further progress. The BJP workers taken into custody were also let off  for lack of evidence.  In Kozhikode, though Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan visited the district committee office, he did not see place of blast. Though there were allegations that the accused came in a two-wheeler and hurled the bomb, the CCTV cameras along the route of the district secretary also could not prove any  conspiracy or stalking.
