Kottayam: The police and the officials from the Centre for Development and Advanced Computing (CDAC) on Thursday searched  the Kaippuzhamuttu river for the couple who went missing on April 6  from Arupara near Kumarakom. The eight-member CDAC team used special equipment with remote control camera to search below the surface of the water.

The police will search  the other water bodies in the coming days. Hashim, 42, and his wife Habeeba, 37, of Arupar near Kumarakom were missing after they went out in their Wagon R car to buy  food from a hotel in Kottayam. Though the CCTV footages showed the vehicle at Kunatanellur, it  could not be tracked. The vehicle may have fallen into the water body, said the police.
