Ashit Mohan Prasad transferred to Bengaluru road safety department
The upgraded post has been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of ADGP, Law and Order.
Bengaluru: The state government has transferred Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence, Ashit Mohan Prasad, and has posted him as ADGP & Commissioner for Traffic and Road Safety. The move comes after an FIR was registered against Prasad in connection with DySP M.K. Ganapati’s suicide.
Prasad was posted in the upgraded vacant post by state government on Friday evening. The government order stated that this post and the cadre post of DIG and Commissioner for Traffic and Road Safety was kept in abeyance. The upgraded post has been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of ADGP, Law and Order.
It may be recalled that before committing suicide DySP Ganapati had alleged in a video statement that former minister K.J. George, Prasad and IGP Mohanty had harassed him and they would be responsible if something happened to him.
Mohanty, who is IGP (Lokayukta), was also posted as Deputy Director General of Aadhar on Wednesday and the government is yet to relieve him to go on Central deputation.
