Chief Justice T S Thakur meets scribe team, end to impasse in sight

The union had earlier held discussions with Justice Kurian Joseph, a senior Supreme Court judge.

Kochi: The Delhi unit of Kerala Union of Working Journalists on Friday met Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Chief Justice T.S. Thakur and discussed the issues between a section of lawyers and mediapersons at the Kerala High Court and its premises. The union members claimed that the Chief Justice had promised that the issues borne out of clashes between lawyers and journalists would be solved. He also assured them of opening of media room inside court complex, the union claimed.

According to a statement, the Chief Justice has promised to entrust a senior Supreme Court judge to look into the issues along with the Acting Chief Justice of Kerala Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan. The Union members met the CJI at Supreme Court. The union had earlier held discussions with Justice Kurian Joseph, a senior Supreme Court judge.

Pinarayi calls meeting

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has convened a meeting of office bearers of Ernakulam Press Club and representatives of the Kerala High Court Advocates Association. The meeting will be held at Ernakulam Guest House  at 12 noon.
