Private bus staff beat KSRTC driver

The violence was allegedly carried out by employees of the private bus Dwaraka which conducts the Haripad-Chengannur service .

ALAPPUZHA: A complaint has been registered with Chengannur police by a KSRTC bus driver against private bus employees for assault while on duty. The police has made no arrest yet. According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday morning at Puliyoor near Changannur. The violence was allegedly carried out by employees of the private bus Dwaraka which conducts the Haripad-Chengannur service .

The KSRTC driver Omanakuttan, 38, of Kallukattil, Thrikkunna-puzha and Abijit,23,  Geethanjali, Thamalla-kkal, conductor of the private bus, were hospitalised  following the attack. The attack was allegedly carried out by the private bus operators after a war of words between employees of the two buses over the breach of timing.

“The KSRTC bus, which was running on the Alappuzha- Chengannur route, was stopped by private bus operators at the Kadanmavu junction near Puliyoor. The driver was dragged out of the seat and beaten up. The woman conductor of the KSRTC bus was abused. A complaint has been registered against three private bus employees”, police said.
