2 held for transport of illegal drugs worth Rs 29 lakhs in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner's Task Force along with the South West Zone Team, drugs inspector, and Malakpet police on Saturday arrested P. Ramesh and B. Raghava Reddy for the illegal sale of spurious medicines without a valid licence or permission. The arrest took place near Kamala Hospital in Dilsukhnagar.

During the operation, spurious medicines worth over Rs 29 lakh were seized from the accused. Ramesh and Reddy, who previously worked in the real estate business and incurred losses, started the illegal trade. They were assisted by Purnachander, Ramesh's brother-in-law, and Laxman.

Nadeem from UP and Arun Choudary from Delhi were found transporting the product across states through courier services concealing the medicines in garment parcels without valid documentation.

The arrest was carried out under the supervision of P. Radha Kishan Rao, Dy. commissioner of Police (OSD), Commissioner's Task Force, by K. Srinivas, inspector of police, Commissioner's Task Force, South West Zone team, along with SI Md. Muzaffar Ali and the staff of the South West Zone team, Commissioner's Task Force.
