KOZHIKODE: Former chief minister Oommen Chandy blasted at the government’s interference in the matters concerning the devotees of Sabarimala. Referring to the government’s stance on the entry of women to the temple, he said that the government need not interfere in the customs and traditions of a particular religion.

“Why does the government want to interfere only in the traditions of the Hindus? It is not interfering in the matters of other religions. Sabarimala should not be dragged into controversies. There is a separate system to decide on the customs and traditions of a religion. They will manage that,” the former chief minister said on Monday while attending DCC leadership meeting in Kozhikode. Regarding A.K. Antony's comments on the infighting inside Congress, Mr Chandy said that there were no irreparable issues in the party. High Command is the final authority, he added.
