Medical college scam: K P Sreesan, A K Nazeer disown inquiry report
However, they admitted that they had inquired about some allegations against party co-operative cell convener R. S. Vinod.
Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state vice-president K.P. Sreesan and BJP state secretary A.K. Nazeer have disowned an inquiry report on the medical college scam, which was allegedly prepared by them. The two leaders told the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau which questioned them here on Tuesday that they had not prepared any formal inquiry report implicating some party leaders in the alleged scam. While the Vigilance team showed them a copy of the said report, they said that they did not prepare any such report and that the signatures on the reports were fake, sources said.
However, they admitted that they had inquired about some allegations against party co-operative cell convener R. S. Vinod. It was found that he was having some financial dealings to the tune of Rs. 5.6 crore with some persons who had no connection with the party. A brief report in this regard was mailed to party state president Kummanam Rajasekharan, they told the Vigilance.
Mr Kummanam, who was quizzed by the Vigilance on Monday, had feigned ignorance of any party internal inquiry report implicating the party leaders. Delhi-based power-broker Satish Nair, who was allegedly involved in the scam, was asked by the Vigilance to appear before it on August 24. The Vigilance Special Investigation Unit II led by SP K. Jayakumar is conducting a preliminary inquiry into the alleged scam.
