Consumers Attack Amalapuram Electric Substation Over Frequent Power Cuts

KAKINADA: A group of people attacked an electrical substation in Amalapuram, on Monday night, expressing anger over frequent power cuts. They destroyed furniture and assaulted the shift operator.

The incident took place at the substation in Kamanagaruvu village, Amalapuram Rural mandal. The protesters said that they had been facing frequent power cuts for the past few days and that it was causing them a lot of inconvenience. They demanded that the authorities take steps to improve the power supply.

When the electrical staff tried to explain the reasons for the power cuts, the protesters became angry and started throwing furniture and electrical meters.

They also assaulted the shift operator, who sustained injuries.

The police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. They have registered a case against the four people who were identified as the main accused.
