Not for joint fight, V M Sudheeran iterates
The UDF has also agreed for a common stand.
Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran has reiterated that the Congress will not join hands with the CPM in fighting against the centre’s move to destroy the cooperative sector in the state. He stated this even as the Congress MLAs supported the resolution passed in the state Assembly on Tuesday against the centre’s move. “The Congress doesn’t need anyone’s sympathy to conduct strikes,” said Mr Sudheeran.
“The Congress party’s fight is against the CPM and the BJP,” he said and alleged that while the CPM was trying to capture the cooperative institutions, the BJP wanted to destroy them. It may be recalled that Mr Sudheeran has the support of Mr T. N. Prathapan MLA and KPCC vice-president M. M. Hassan while Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala and former chief minister Oommen Chandy are for a joint fight. The UDF has also agreed for a common stand.
