Visakhapatnam: The Varaha Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Devasthanam in Simhachalam, Visakhapatnam district, is preparing to embark on a sacred journey of devotion and self-discipline with the annual Sri Narasimha Deeksha programme. This spiritual odyssey will provide devotees with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the divine presence of Sri Narasimhaswamy and deepen their spiritual connection.

The initiation process for the Sri Narasimha Deeksha will be conducted in two phases, allowing devotees the flexibility to choose a schedule that suits their circumstances. The first phase will commence on November 26 and continue until January 6, 2024. The second phase will run from December 4, 2023, to the same concluding date, ensuring that all aspiring devotees have the opportunity to participate in this transformative spiritual experience.

The temple authorities have meticulously chosen the dates for initiation, maladharana (garland initiation), and culmination, ensuring that they align perfectly with the temple's rich traditions and customs. This adherence to tradition underscores the Devasthanam's commitment to preserving the sanctity of this sacred pilgrimage.

To encourage and support devotees on their spiritual journey, the Devasthanam will provide free Tulasi malas and idols of Sri Swami to those who take initiation on the specified dates. These sacred gifts serve as tangible reminders of the devotee's commitment to spiritual growth and their connection to the divine presence.

In addition to the Sri Narasimha Deeksha programme, the Devasthanam will also conduct a special Ganga Harathi at Varaha Pushkarini to mark the second Monday of Karthika masam. This auspicious occasion will be celebrated on November 27, and devotees participating in the Ganga Harathi will receive free prasads, oil, and prasad made of cow dung as a token of blessing and gratitude.
The Simhachalam Devasthanam has taken all necessary measures to ensure the comfort and convenience of devotees throughout the 32-day period.
