Kottayam: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekaran on Thursday said that the attacks by the police on the BJP activists who protested against the ragging incident at the Nattakam polytechnic college points to the CPI(M) attitude of suppressing all opposition to its activities. He was referring to the police lathicharge and teargas shell attack on Wednesday on BJP activists who marched to the Collectorate protesting against the ragging incident. Mr Rajasekaran was speaking to reporters after visiting BJP district president N Hari at the district hospital on Thursday.
He said that the BJP would hold zonal rallies in the coming months protesting against the attack on its party workers. The BJP state president also visited the Nattakam polytechnic college where the ragging took place. Nine of the students who were involved in the ragging incident have been suspended from the college after a case was registered against them following the complaint of two first year students of the college who were allegedly ragged by them.
