Hyderabad: Constable collapses while working out, dies of heart stroke
HYDERABAD: Yamjala Dharam Vishal, a 2020 batch police constable deputed to Asif Nagar police station of Hyderabad city, collapsed and died while working out in a private gym at Marredpally on Thursday night. Prima facie, a massive heart stroke is said to be the cause of death.
Vishal, 30, had earlier worked as a home guard with the city police for years and later joined as a police constable.
On Thursday after completion of duty, he went home at Ghasmandi in Secunderabad from the police station. As it is his regular routine, he went to H2O gym at East Marredpally.
He completed two sets of pushups and collapsed, gym staff told the police. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared dead. A case has been registered on a complaint from his father Yamjala Dharam Prakash, said Marredpally SI S Ravi Kumar.
Coming from a financially poor background Vishal, only son to his parents, is the first to join the Government service. Despite working as a home guard, he made efforts to clear the constable entrance, physical tests and joined the force again as a constable.
Though his father is working as a security guard even at the age of 69, Vishal took up the family responsibility since he started working. He was a major support to the family and was planning to get his younger sister married very soon.
While remembering him as a fit and healthy person, his batchmates expressed shock at his sudden demise. “ He used to never miss a workout but his death due to a heart stroke is shocking,” they said.
