Heat wave for 5 days in Telangana: Met department

Hyderabad recorded 41.8ºC on Saturday; Sunday's forecast is a high of 42ºC and low of 28ºC.

Hyderabad: Affecting the holiday plans of many residents, the Met department has extended the heat wave alert for five more days in Telangana and Rayalaseema. Dry weather will prevail over the two Telugu speaking states except in coastal AP. On Saturday, rainfall was recorded at isolated places in Telangana. Hyderabad recorded 41.8ºC on Saturday. Sunday’s forecast is a high of 42ºC and low of 28ºC.

Seven Telangana towns register 45 degree Celsius
Bhadrachalam, Khammam, Nalgonda and Nizamabad recorded 45ºC on Sunday.

The Indian Meteorological Department – Hyderabad, with regard to TS said, “For the next five days the temperature will be  7ºC above normal.”

A heat wave has been announced in districts of Anantapur, Chittoor, Kadapa and Kurnool of Rayalaseema. Also, high temperatures  are likely to prevail at isolated places in East and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam. The forecast for coastal AP was light rain at isolated places. Dry weather is likely over Rayalseema.
