DC IMPACT | Cops streamline work, traffic at Rasoolpura
Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand, along with senior officers, inspected the nala works at Rasoolpura
Hyderabad: City police commissioner C.V. Anand along with senior officers inspected the nala works at Rasoolpura on Saturday which has resulted in massive traffic chaos.
Anand, accompanied by joint police commissioner (traffic) A.V. Ranganath, visited the diversion routes and roads abutting the main stretch where nala work is in progress. He asked traffic officials to install animated signage boards to direct the commuters to use the alternative routes.
He urged the public to avoid this route for the next 45 days and follow the diversion routes as notified by the traffic police. He also asked law and order officers to coordinate with traffic personnel and manage traffic.
“Traffic flow has reached pre-Covid levels. Many IT employees have started commuting to their offices. We will liaise with GHMC to expedite the nala work,” Anand said in a statement.
“A lakh vehicles ply through the Rasoolpura stretch a day. Commuting by Metro Rail on the same stretch makes the journey much easier,” Anand said.
There was a traffic jam at the diversion point before the Begumpet police station, where vehicles from Panjagutta towards CTO junction was diverted to the opposite side of the road.
This stream of vehicles was getting mixed up with traffic heading from CTO junction to Panjagutta.
This was rectified on Saturday with barricading. Senior North Zone police officials were seen assisting Anand by directing commuters to take a diversion from the Begumpet police station.
Anand told the GHMC contractors to use glow wands and glow pattern lights at night to caution drivers. He asked GHMC to to post radium signage boards with cautionary signs.
