Some roads still closed in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Morning walkers from Radhika Colony in West Marredpally were stopped by Army jawans at Wellington Road on Wednesday and told that civilians were not allowed to use the road before 7 am. The incident on Wednesday took place at around 6.15 am, ahead of Stop & Go bakery.
Five jawans were deployed at the stop gate at Wellington Road. Mr Venkateshwar and his friends argued with the jawans citing the orders. They were initially told that walkers will not be allowed but public transport and ambulances will be.
The civilians wanted to know the name of the officer who had issued the directions to deny them entry. After calls were made to the GOC office and as the crowd swelled, the gate was opened at around 6.45 am. The video was circulated among cantonment residents' groups.
Many came out stating that certain roads were still not open. Victor Joseph said, “The road from Karimnagar highway through Bolarum Church has not been opened yet. The Army has removed the barricades, but are yet to unlock the gate.” The roads at St John's school, Lal bazaar, are also closed.
