Vijayawada: AP Energy Regulatory Commission (APERC) chairman Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy on Tuesday appreciated AP Genco for successfully supplying highest loads of power during the peak summer.

The appreciation came when AP Genco managing director K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu met the APERC chairman in Hyderabad and discussed issues relating to multi-year tariff of AP Genco projects.

The AP Genco MD informed Justice Nagarjuna Reddy that Genco is supplying around 102–105 million units of power to the state grid on a daily basis, which is 40–45 per cent of total consumption, the highest ever after bifurcation of the state.

Chakradhar Babu said AP Genco is making all out efforts to improve coal stocks and ensure cost-effective generation, with better heat rate and optimal use of fuel. He said efforts were being made to adopt best practices, improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions.

He said they are striving hard to make AP Genco the best organisation in power generation at the national level, which maintains the highest plant load factor.
