Hyderabad: Labourer nabbed in murder case

Hyderabad: Rachakonda police solved a five-month-old murder case and arrested a daily wage labourer in Vanasthalipuram on Sunday. Chettupally Sriramulu attacked Mirdoddi Chandraiah when the latter found him stealing from an automobile repair shop. Chandraiah later died.
DCP LB Nagar M. Venkateswar Rao said that Chandraiah, 46, was working as a watchman with United Motors in Chintalkunta in Vanasthalipuram. On the night of February 4, Chandraiah and his wife and son were sleeping in the shed. At midnight when his wife woke up to relieve herself she found her husband lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to hospital where he died on February 9.
Meanwhile, on Sunday the crime teams of Vanasthalipuram police station apprehended a habitual scrap thief and brought him to the police station. On inquiry he confessed to the cops that on the midnight of February 4 he had come to United Motors repair centre planning theft. After entering the shed while he was trying to steal Chandraiah woke up and saw him.
When Chandraiah tried to catch Sriramulu he attacked him with an iron rod on the head and Chandraiah fell down unconscious. Later, Sriramulu stole Chandraiah's mobile phone and some cash from his pockets and fled.
Police found that Sriramulu was earlier involved in three cases in Vanasthalipuram and one in Hayathnagar and in all the four cases he was convicted. But after release he against started thefts. Sriramulu was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
Man harasses kin, nabbed
An employee of a private firm who allegedly harassed his techie sister-in-law was arrested by Medipally police. Police said the accused Jaiswal, 27, sent abusive messages to the victim on WhatsApp and FB.
Police said that Jaiswal got married to the victim’s elder sister a month ago. Police said that he had been sending her abusive messages on WhatsApp. The victim lodged a complaint and Jaiswal was arrested. Police also seized the mobile phone which was used for posting the messages. Jaiswal was sent to judicial custody.
