Hyderabad: Supercars and bikes are now up for hire
For Rs 15000 to Rs 3000 per day, many taking out luxury vehicles for quick getaways.
Hyderabad: Techies and professionals in various sectors in the city are often renting sports bikes and cars for going on driving holidays or for checking out the vehicles before buying them these days.
A few companies in the city provide self driven bikes and cars including sports bikes and luxury cars that cost from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore. There are only about five companies that provide self-driven luxury bikes and cars in the country.
Mr Vijay Kumar Chandrashekar, a techie from Gachibowli, said that he used to visit tourist spots in South India when he was working in Bengaluru.
“The same scenario is being continued here. I usually ride to Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. I prefer the ‘Indian Scout’ bike which is available at a rent of Rs 8,000 per day,” he said.
Mr Mihir Shah, a financial consultant from the city said that he had a Honda Fireblade-ABS but it was not comfortable for riding in remote areas as its base was very low.
“I prefer the Triumph Tiger XRX-800 for long rides at a rent of Rs 8,500 rent per day. Usually I go to Goa, Mysore and other tourism spots along with a group of riders. We take all precautionary measures like wearing helmets, kneepads etc. while riding sports bikes. We have a team with us for medical emergencies and mechanics,” he said.
Sharing her experience with rented cars, Ms T. Saila Sree, who runs a security agency said, “I have been using rented cars when my car is sent for servicing or for repairs.
Apart from this, when I plan tours with my family, I prefer rented cars because the car providers maintain them carefully.”
The cars available on hire include Tata Nanos to high end Porsche-911s that are rented for at least Rs 60,000 per day.
Rented car and bikes’ provider at Srinagar Colony, Driven’s proprietor Mr Karar Taher Ahmed said two types of customers were renting bikes and cars — those who wanted to go on long rides, and those who wanted to try them out before buying them.
