KOZHIKODE: Highlighting the cultural values of the country and spreading the message of national integrity and harmony, a one-hour dance drama  will be performed as part of the BJP national council  at Swapnanagari on Saturday.  Ali Akbar, noted film director  and the BJP cultural wing district convener,  has directed, edited and written the dance drama ‘Peepal Ki Kahani- apni vani mei’ that is to be presented before the national leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The present scenario highlights the grave state of the country, where the unity and integrity of the country are  at stake, adharma is disseminated and we are suffering because of the constant threat from our neighbourhood.   All these have  been depicted in the dance drama using the help of  epic texts Ramayana and Mahabharata,”  said Ali Akbar.

The major challenge was to get the whole drama in Hindi and make the artists, especially small kids, to perform according to it, he said. As many as 90 artists representing Balagokulam, artists from Chemanchery Kathakali Vidayalayam and others have  been practising for the  last 15 days for the show.  The drama also gives a glimpse of all the major dance and martial arts of South India.
