BJP to pacify BDJS before Yatra'
Mr Satish was sent to the state to take stock of the situation along with the preparations for the Janaraksha Yatra.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BJP central leadership has decided to pacify the NDA allies, including Bharat Dharma Jana Sena, before party president Amit Shah flags off state president Kummanam Rajasekharan's Janaraksha Yatra on October 3. SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan has been embarrassing the BJP state leadership on several occasions and hinted at joining hands with the Left camp. The BDJS had also boycotted the NDA meeting held here last week and the public reception accorded to Mr Alphons Kannanthanam, union minister.
Though Mr Vellapally’s son and BDJS national president Tushar Vellapally is soft towards the BJP, Mr Natesan calls the shots in the party and his pressure tactics may pay. “V. Satish, national joint general secretary (organising) was in Kochi and Alappuzha last week when Kummanam apprised him of the BDJS threats,” said a BJP leader. Mr Satish was sent to the state to take stock of the situation along with the preparations for the Janaraksha Yatra. All the 12-member core committee leaders from the state will attend the two-day BJP national executive committee meeting in New Delhi from Sunday. “Around 2,300 delegates from across the country have been summoned to New Delhi. We will also take up the BDJS issue,” said a core committee member.
