Chennai: BJP national secretary H. Raja lashed out at DMK chief M. Karunanidhi for criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for chanting “Jai Sri Ram” at Ram Leela event in Lucknow.

Contending that there was nothing wrong in Mr Modi chanting the name of Lord Ram Mr  Raja questioned the secular credentials of Mr  Karunanidhi who never failed to greet the minorities during Christmas and Ramzan but not the Hindus during important festivals like Diwali.

He also took strong exception to retired IAS officer Christodas Gandhi for his remark during a recent TV debate that “secularism means having the right to hit Lord Ram with slippers” and said he would initiate legal action on the former civil servant.
