Kollam: A 15-year-old girl who struggled for life after jumping from the third floor of Trinity Lyceum School in Kollam succumbed to injuries in a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. Gauri Neha, daughter of Prasannan of Makkatt Kizhakkethil, Kannimelcheri in Sakthikulangara, took the extreme step after a teacher allegedly scolded her. Kollam West police booked two teachers, Sindhu and Crescent under Sections 511, 305, 34 of IPC including abetment of suicide, based on a petition of her parents.

Her father's statement says her sister’s class teacher had mentally tortured her driving to the suicide. Her sister studying in Class VIII in the same school was made to sit among boys as a disciplinary action.  Gauri questioned this and later complained against the teacher, provoking her to scold the girl in the staff room using “insulting words”. Mentally distressed, she jumped to her death.  The incident took place around 2 pm on Friday. She was first admitted to a hospital in Kollam and later shifted to Thiruvananthapuram.
