Trace my hubby in Muscat, Vellore woman's plea to collector
She appealed to the collector, Mr. S.A. Raman, in tears to take steps to trace her husband who has reportedly died in Muscat.
Vellore: A distraught woman from a village near Pachakuppam in Ambur union in Vellore district on Friday appealed to the collector, Mr. S.A. Raman, in tears to take steps to trace her husband who has reportedly died in Muscat.
Barely able to walk after she heard about her husband’s death from his friend in Muscat, a shattered Nandini with her kin came to the district collectorate and gave a petition to the collector, requesting him to get in touch with the authorities in Muscat to know the whereabouts of her husband, Manikandan.
Nandini said in her petition that her hubby’s friend informed her over phone from Muscat on Thursday that Manikandan, working as an electrical technician for a firm there since 2004, had died.
Nandini said when she tried to get in touch with her husband’s employer firm in Muscat, there was no proper reply from them. Deeply anguished over the fate of her husband, Nandini petitioned the Vellore collector urging him to take steps to “ascertain the full details of what happened to my husband and retrieve him back home.” The collector assured her to do the needful.
